If you have a disability and need support to fully and equally participate in a court proceeding or activity, you may request a reasonable accommodation.
We must receive your request at least one week before the proceeding. However, we’ll process requests for immediate accommodations as best we can.
Who qualifies
Any person with a disability can qualify for an accommodation that’s reasonable and necessary under:
- The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
- Other similar local, state, and federal laws
- Washington State General Rule (GR) 33
Exceptions
We’ll approve your request unless:
- It’s impossible or impractical to do so on the date of the proceeding
- The court cannot reschedule a proceeding to provide the accommodation without impacting the participants
Other documents you may need
You may need to provide additional documentation for the court to properly review your accommodation request.
If asked, fill out and submit a Sealed Medical and Health Information (Cover Sheet)(PDF, 55KB). We’ll automatically seal this form so it stays private.
If you submit medical and health information using a different form, you may ask the court to seal the documents later.
