About the parking tax
Our City imposes a tax on commercial parking facilities. The tax covers each commercial parking transaction, including short-term metered parking. The length of time a vehicle is parked does not affect the tax owed.

How to collect and pay the tax
If you operate a commercial parking facility, you must collect this tax from customers and pay it to our City.
Taxes for the previous month are due by the last day of the following month. Along with the taxes collected, you’ll need to complete and submit a remittance form. You must submit this form each month, regardless of the amount collected.
Parking Tax Remittance Form
Each month, complete and submit the Parking Tax Remittance Form(PDF, 191KB). You can submit completed forms via mail with your payment to the address on the form or by email to accountsreceivable@seatacwa.gov.
If you are missing a remittance, you can find the forms for previous years on the parking tax historical rates page.
What the parking tax pays for
The parking tax funds our City’s Street Fund, which pays for ongoing maintenance such as pavement repair, street sweeping, pavement marking, and vegetation control.
It also contributes to our Capital Improvement Fund, which pays for major expenses related to construction and/or improvement of streets and related infrastructure.
