Minor Home Repair Program
Figuring out how to afford unexpected home repairs can be difficult. Thankfully, our City offers a program that can help fit them into your budget.
How the program works
You’ll need to meet requirements related to income, type of repairs, and the cost of work. If you’re eligible, we’ll pay an approved contractor to make repairs to your home.
Eligibility for the program
To be eligible, you must:
- Live within SeaTac City limits
- Be listed on the home’s title
- Currently live in the home
- Have homeowner’s insurance
- Meet the income requirements in the following section
Income requirements
To qualify, you and all other adults in your home must earn 80% or less of the median income for this area.
As of June 1, 2025, the median income in our city is $157,100 for a family of four.

Repairs the program covers
This program focuses on repairs that are necessary for the health and safety of the people living in your home. Examples include:
- Preventive maintenance
- Small plumbing, cleaning drains, leaks, faucets, sinks, toilets, and caulking
- Hot water tanks
- Electrical
- Weather stripping and insulation
- Grab bars and accessible ramps
- Minor roof leaks
- Gutters and downspouts
- Broken stairways
Cost limits
If you’re eligible, this program can pay for repairs costing up to $5,000 each year. Additionally, this program can only cover up to $12,000 worth of repairs across multiple years. Once you reach this limit, you can’t apply again.
