Demolition

This application is for the complete removal of structures from a private lot.

The following documentation must be submitted when applying for a demolition permit:

Issued sewer capping permit by the sewer district serving the site

Proof of property ownership

Asbestos analysis or survey

Puget Sound Clean Air Agency (PSCAA) proof of application and case number

SEPA checklist, if required. Structures 12,000 SF or under are exempt from this requirement

Site Plan, include:

  • All property lines
  • Label building(s) to be removed and building(s) to remain
  • Adjacent streets
  • Location of all utilities

Site Restoration, include:

  • Plan for the restoration of the area of the structure(s) to be removed, unless demolition is part of additional construction permits

Site - drawn to the most appropriate engineering scale, 1"=10' or 1"=20'

Special Considerations

For total building demolition, at the time of the final inspection, all utilities shall be disconnected and capped within five (5) feet of the property in accordance with the serving utilities accepted practices.

 

** The PSCAA requires advanced notification for structures to be demolished with a projected roof area greater than 120 square feet and/or asbestos projects disturbing 10 linear feet and/or 48 square feet or greater of asbestos containing material in Pierce, King, Kitsap, and Snohomish counties.
