Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964

It is the City of SeaTac policy to assure that no person shall, on the grounds of race, color, or national origin including limited English proficiency, as provided by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be otherwise discriminated against under any of its programs and activities. The City of SeaTac further assures that every effort will be made to ensure nondiscrimination in all of its programs and activities, whether those programs and activities are federally funded or not. assistance.

Language Access

The City of SeaTac wants everyone to be able to use its services and programs easily. The City has created guidance and tools to help residents who might have trouble understanding or speaking English. These rules promote good communication between city staff and the people of SeaTac, especially those with limited English.

City of SeaTac Non-Discrimination Policy

The City of SeaTac is committed to assuring equal access and non-discrimination according to Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and complies with Title VI as part of a Local Partner Agency endorsement of the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Title VI Implementation Plan.

File a Non-Discrimination Compliant 

Any person or group who believes they were discriminated against based on race, color, or national origin in programs, services, or activities where there is federal assistance may file a Title VI complaint.

A complaint must be filed no later than 180 days after the date of the last instance of alleged discrimination, unless the time for filing is extended by the processing agency.

Complaints must be submitted in writing and signed. You can send them by mail, fax, email, or deliver them in person. If someone calls the City to make a complaint, staff will write down what they report and send it back to the individual for review and signature.
