If you miss your scheduled hearing for a criminal charge, a warrant may be issued for your arrest. Contact the court clerk to determine if a warrant was issued for your arrest, or if the judge ordered you to be summoned for a new court date. If a warrant has been issued, you have the following options:

  1. You may come to the court clerk’s window at city hall with your photo ID. A clerk will review your case to determine whether the warrant can be quashed administratively, or if you will be scheduled for a hearing to address your warrant.
  2. You may contact your attorney to file a motion with the court on your behalf.
  3. You may pay the bail amount on the warrant through a bail bond company or at the clerk’s window. If you are paying at the clerk’s window, the bail must be paid in full. You will be scheduled for a new court date when payment is received.
  4. You may turn yourself in to the SCORE jail in the city of Des Moines. The jail will work with the court to schedule your appearance before the judge by video.

Out of State Warrant Quashes

Please contact your attorney to file a motion with the court. If you do not have an attorney assigned to your case, you will need to submit the indigency screening form for the public defender, or hire your own attorney. Attorneys must be licensed to practice law in the state of Washington.
