This area is currently undergoing some updates that will improve access to the park with construction of a new trailhead located off of 18th Ave S. Upgrades will include:

  • A picnic shelter with tables and bench seating.
  • SeaTac’s first inclusive playground with handicap accessible equipment.
  • Increased parking capacity for approximately 80-90 vehicles.
  • A new restroom.

Environmental education will be highlighted in the picnic shelter with an interpretive sign explaining the importance of the Des Moines Creek watershed and practices people can employ to reduce stormwater pollution. Stormwater is rainwater or snow melt that falls on streets, rooftops, and parking lots. It carries any pollutants on the ground, like litter and car oil, into local creeks, lakes, and rivers without treatment. Learn more about how you can help keep our water clean on our Stormwater webpage.

The existing trailhead access off S. 200th St. will remain open for park users to access the park. Once the new trailhead construction is completed, the existing trailhead access at S. 200th will transition to pedestrian and bicycle access only.

Construction began in May of 2025 and is expected to be completed in December 2025.
