This project received federal grant funds through the Safe Routes to School Program and State funds through the Transportation Improvement Board Urban Arterial Program. The project provides a safer route for pedestrians, bicyclists, and vehicles traveling along 34th Avenue South, from South 160th Street to South 166th Street.

Project improvements include installation of new curb, gutter, sidewalks, landscape buffers, pedestrian lighting, bicycle lanes, new pavement, on-street parking, improved stormwater facilities, water main replacement, and conversion of overhead power to underground distribution.
