Effective immediately and until further notice, ALL Concealed Pistol License appointments, including originals, renewals and replacements, and fingerprinting services will be suspended due to concerns of the Coronavirus.
If you live in King County, you may contact the SeaTac Police Department for an appointment to apply for a Concealed Pistol License at 206.973.4900. Appointments are scheduled for Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays only from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm excluding holidays.
The license fees are:
$49.25 (effective January 1, 2019)
$32.00 for a renewal
$42.00 for a late renewal
$10.00 for a replacement (lost, stolen or destroyed)
You may apply for a renewal license on or up to 90 days prior to the expiration date for $32.00. You may also apply for a late renewal for $42.00 if you are not more than 90 days beyond the expiration date. If your license is expired more than 90 days, you will need to reapply for an original license.
The license fees are payable only by a personal check drawn on a Washington State Bank or a money order made payable to the King County Sheriff's Office. We cannot accept cash, debit or credit cards. Checks must be preprinted with name and address matching the applicant's ID. If payment is applied to more than one license, both names must be preprinted on the check. We cannot accept 3rd party checks.
The waiting period to receive an original Concealed Pistol License is 30 days (60 days for out of state residents). When renewing or replacing a Concealed Pistol License, please allow at least 4 weeks for the issuance of the license. All licenses are mailed to the mailing address that is specified on your completed application.

If you wish to apply for a CPL on a walk-in basis, you may do so at the King County Courthouse at 516 Third Avenue (Third Avenue & James Street) in Seattle. Please be aware that wait time may be involved and will change depending on the day of the week, time of year and following major incidents.
