Community Police Academy 2024

The SeaTac and Burien Police, in partnership with the King County Sheriff's Office, invite community members, 18 and older, to a nine-week course designed to increase the understanding between residents and their police departments through public education. Participation is limited to those community members who live or work in either SeaTac or Burien with no prior felony convictions. All applicants must pass a criminal history background check. Classes are held on Thursday evenings from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Graduates of the Community Police Academy gain a better understanding of the criminal justice system and an appreciation for the many challenges facing law enforcement in today's society. This knowledge will help community members better assist officers and increase safety in their neighborhoods.

The next session runs from March 20 - May 15, 2025. If you wish to register for this session, please download an CPA Application or pick up an application at either the SeaTac or Burien Police Departments and return your completed application to the SeaTac Community Service Officer Denise Contreras at dencontreras@kingcounty.gov or at the SeaTac Police Department.
