Fourth of July

July 4, 2025 at Angle Lake Park, 19408 International Blvd., SeaTac

Park is open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

This year, the City of SeaTac is hitting pause on formal Fourth of July festivities at Angle Lake Park. After two thoughtful Public Safety and Justice Committee meetings, we’ve decided to take a break from large-scale programming for 2025 and 2026 in order to rethink how we host large-scale events. Our goal is to make them safer, more inclusive, and more accessible to residents across the city.

There is still plenty of fun in store!

When was this Decision Made?

The Public Safety and Justice Committee first discussed the 4th of July event on February 27th and requested staff to do a feasibility study for two options: Event vs No Event, and to include an associated safety plan for emergency services and budget allocation to present at their next meeting. On April 3rd, the Public Safety and Justice Committee met and presented data from the 4th of July celebration of 2024. With the park receiving 3 times the amount that would ensure safety occupancy during the 2024 celebration, safety concerns arose. Given the information cited by emergency responders and due to the data received, council members decided to pause the 4th of July events for 25-26 due to public safety concerns.

Enjoy the Day

On July 4, the park will be open for all your favorite daytime activities until 6 p.m. Splash around in the spray park, relax on the dock, or take a dip in the lifeguard-patrolled swimming area. It’s a perfect way to enjoy the holiday outdoors.

At 6:00 p.m., police will begin closing the park, which will stay closed for the rest of the evening. The park will reopen the following morning.

Note: the public boat ramp will be closed all day on July 4.
