City Manager Weekly Update February 12, 2021

Greetings,

A winter storm is coming to SeaTac area tonight. 

The National Weather Service is predicting lowland snow for SeaTac and possible strong easterly winds. Forecasters say the weather event could last through Saturday and dump up to six inches of snow in SeaTac.  To learn more click here.

Puget Sound Fire has some winter weather safety tips for you. 

The King County Sheriff's Office advises drivers to clear your windshields before driving in this winter weather.

Deputies also warn drivers to not leave their cars running and unattended.

Sound Transit has some tips for those using mass transit during this winter storm.

You may have noticed that Sound Transit has built a temporary bypass along SR 99 in SeaTac.

This bypass is part of the Federal Way Link Extension to Federal Way which is now more than 25% complete.

Speaking of projects, King County Metro seeks community input through route to recovery survey.

The SeaTac Parks Department has a project too with the public being allowed to purchase  a paver tile  at the Veterans Memorial.

Now that King County is in Phase 2 of the Healthy Washington reopening plan, the Parks Department has more offerings at the SeaTac Community Center.

Contractors should be aware that there is a new Washington State Building Code.

The SeaTac Police Department has a new Community Engagement Officer.
