City Manager Weekly Update May 29, 2020

Greetings,

This week Councilmember Joel Wachtel stepped down after serving the City for the past few years. His passion and extensive experience will be missed.

on Friday, May 29, Governor Inslee’s announced his  “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” order will expire on May 31. In its place, the Governor announced that the state is moving into announced Safe Start – Washington’s Phased Reopening.

On Friday, May 29, King County Executive Dow Constantine announced plan to re-open limited business activity in COVID-19 Recovery.

At the Regular City Council Meeting, Mayor Erin Sitterley declared May, 2020 as Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month.

On Memorial Day, SeaTac resident paid their respects to those who served our country at the Veterans Memorial.

 Puget Sound Fire wants to remind everyone that this week is Home Fire Sprinkler Week. Fire sprinklers save lives by reacting quickly to extinguish/control a fire.

Public Works has several project in construction in the City. Here is a map to see them all.

Effective June 1, Sound Transit will offer temporarily reduced Recovery Fares in response to the economic impact of COVID-19 as the agency re-introduces fares on Link light rail and Sounder

 It's never been easier to respond to the Census. SeaTac. The City has added Census Public Service Announcements to Channel 21 SeaTV.

On June 24, I will be speaking at Seattle Southside Chamber of Commerce Virtual Resiliency Summit to help our Local Economy Recover.
