SeaTac, WA (August 6, 2015) – The Distinguished Budget Presentation Award has been awarded to the City of SeaTac for its commitment towards meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting. The award is the highest form of recognition in governmental budgeting given by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) to recognize SeaTac’s achievement in satisfying the nationally recognized guidelines for effective budgeting. The GFOA’s Distinguished Budget Presentation Awards Program is the only national awards program in governmental budgeting. With this award the City of SeaTac remains in the elite top 10% nationally for governmental budgeting.

“We are honored to receive the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award,” said Todd Cutts, City Manager for the City of SeaTac. “After transitioning from an annual to a biennial budget just two years ago, this award could not have been achieved without the strong commitment by our staff and the great leadership of our City Council and Finance Department. Recognition by such a prestigious group validates our constant efforts and priority to serve the community through excellence in budgeting.”
Specifically cited in the award is Aaron Antin, Director of Finance & Systems, for being most responsible for the achievement.

The GFOA is a non-profit association headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, with offices in Washington, D.C. serving more than 18,000 government officials and finance practitioners. Award recipients have pioneered efforts to improve the quality of budgeting and provide an excellent example for other governments throughout North America.
