Teen Police Academy

The SeaTac and Burien Police, in partnership with the King County Sheriff's Office, are working to educate youth of tomorrow about the roles of the police and the requirements of becoming a police officer.  We are offering a one week course, free of charge, to all ages 14-18 who qualify.

  • No criminal history
  • In good standing with school and the community
  • Provide two written character references
  • Have transportation to and from City Hall
  • Must attend all 5 days to graduate

The course will be held at the SeaTac City Hall from 8/20/18 to 8/24/18 from 8:00am to 1:00pm.  Topics to be covered are:  recruiting, Explorer opportunities, patrol procedures, SWAT, EVOC, K9's, range shooting, 911 and much more.  Transportation will be provided for all field trips and lunch will be included.  Graduation will be held on 8/24/18 at 11:00am; all parents and family are welcomed.
