May 22, 2018 Council Actions

The following Council direction was given at the May 22, 2018 Regular Council Meeting:
- Refer to Administration & Finance Committee
YMCA Lease and Services Agreement
Employment Standards Ordinance (leave cash out provision conflicts with new state law)
Policy on City employees who are residents serving on committees
- Refer to Planning & Economic Development Committee
Fiber Optics Study
- Refer to Parks & Recreation Committee
Presentation on process for staff when encountering people camping in the City, as well as when people come to City Hall looking for assistance
The following Council actions were taken at the May 22, 2018 Regular Council Meeting:
Jeffrey Guite was appointed to the Airport Advisory Committee
Rita Marlow and Kathleen Brave were appointed to the Arts, Culture & Library Advisory Committee
Melissa Wells, Robin Pedersen, and Charrise Oden were appointed to the Community Services Advisory Committee
Brandi Hanley was appointed to the Hotel/Motel Tax Advisory Committee
Acceptance of public works projects: South 168th Street Drainage Improvements $210,393.20

Agenda Bill #4911; A Motion accepting the Permit Parking Program (PPP) Study and authorizing implementation of a pilot project was carried and became effective May 22, 2018.
Agenda Bill #4953; A Motion authorizing the City Manager to enter into a contract with BERK Consultants, Inc. for a Police Services Study in the amount not to exceed $90,000 was carried and became effective May 22, 2018.
Agenda Bill #4886; An Ordinance #18-1019 amending the SeaTac Municipal Code regarding ground floor commercial space requirements for multi-family and retirement apartment uses in the City Center and Angle Lake Station Area overlay districts was adopted May 22, 2018 and becomes effective June 3, 2018.
The following item was acted on under New Business:
A Motion authorizing the City Manager to execute a contract with Lakeridge Paving Company for overlay asphalt and striping at Angle Lake Park Parking Lot, and authorizing expenditures not to exceed $134,552.00 including sales tax and contingency was carried and became effective May 22, 2018.
The following item was referred to the June 12, 2018 Regular Council Meeting Consent Agenda:
Agenda Bill #4923; A Motion authorizing the City Manager to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) regarding local funding contributions and fundraising efforts associated with the construction of the State Route (SR) 509 project component of the Gateway Program.
The following item was referred to the June 12, 2018 Regular Council Meeting Action Item:
Agenda Bill #4908; An Ordinance vacating right-of-way (ROW) a portion of South 140th Street from 28th Avenue South to its western terminus.
